To become a Full member of Craggers you need to attend a general meeting to be accepted and be prepared to help with organizing Craggers events and activities. Potential new Full members must then fill out a membership form and pay a low membership fee (currently £3 children under 16, £8 unwaged e.g. J.S.A. / Income Support, £15 Low-waged e.g. receiving Housing Benefit, £25 Waged) which entitles you to many benefits and discounts - please see the appropriate section. Membership is only open to residents of Brighton and Hove and the local surrounding area. Membership is renewed annually during December. You will be informed when your membership is due for renewal.
Parental Responsibility
Children under the age of 16 are the responsibility of their parents/carers at all times. Craggers volunteers can not take legal responsibility for children and young people during activities and outings.
Fundraising
Most of our funding comes from various grants including Children in Need, Scarman Trust, The Council, The BMC, Cash for Clubs. Grassroots Grants, Global Grants etc. We are always needing to fundraise for training, events, equipment and expeditions. Anyone wishing to do some fundraising will be given support to do so.
Decision Making and Communication
Business meetings are held every three weeks at the Brighton Unemployed Families Centre, Tilbury Place. Please contact Craggers or ask a Craggers member about the next one. All of Craggers activities are organised by our members voluntarily and we encourage all members to take an active part in being part of Craggers so do get involved. All members are contacted about upcoming events and the minutes from the business meetings are circulated for your information.
If you would like more information about joining Craggers please contact our membership secretary or use the appropriate contact form in the contact section of this site.
